Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis infection. It has an acute onset, rapid disease development, and a high fatality rate. It can cause a pandemic and is extremely harmful. Currently, the methods commonly used for the detection of Neisseria meningitidis are nucleic acid amplification method, bacterial culture method, enzyme-linked immunization method, etc.
This kit uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology based on TaqMan fluorescent probe to detect Neisseria meningitidis (Nm) from specimens including whole blood or cerebrospinal fluid from the patients or suspected patients.
The shelf life of this kit is 12 months when stored at -(20±5) °C.
